Reliance Energy Limited has come out with its second quarter FY08 reults today. The company has posted standalone net profit of Rs 25o crore for the quarter ended September 2008 as against Rs 186 crore in the same quarter last year.

Net Profit grew by 34.17% to Rs 2,500.80 million compared to Rs 1,863.90 million for the same quarter last year. Total income of the company increased to Rs 17,999.20 million, 13.65% up for the September 07 quarter as against Rs 15,837 Crore for the second quarter in September 2006.

However standalone net sales of Reliance Energy declined to Rs 1259 crore from Rs 1408 crore. The other income  of the company stood at Rs 258 crore versus Rs 176 crore.

Shares of the company were last trading down Rs 238.40, or 12.52%, at Rs 1,666.

Analysts are in a view that through the unlocking of its share from Reliance Power IPO, Reliance Energy will bring more money to the company in the coming quarters.
 

Much awaited IT major Infosys Technoloiges results have been just out and the second quarter numbers look disappointing. Infosys has just posted 1.9% growth in net profit compared to the previous quarter last year.
Infosys Guidance.

Infosys Technologies consolidated net sales increased to Rs 4,106 crore up by 8.85% compared to its previous quarter net sales of Rs 3,773 crore. Operating profit margin increased to 31.27% in this quarter compared to 28.73% in the previous quarter.

Infosys third quarter guidance stood at 3.2-3.7% growth over second quarter numbers which accounts to revenue of Rs4,238-4,258 crore. EPS guidance is Rs 20.11, which shows growth of 4.46% Quarter on Quarter basis.

So for the Financial year 2008, Infosys is likely to post revenue of Rs 16,588 crore which implies an jump of 19.4% which is not so great compared to the previous financial years numbers Infosys has posted.

Infosys Technologies Stock is down 5.03% and is trading at Rs 2,018.10 on NSE at 10.27Am.

IT major Infosys Technologies will announce its Q2 Results tommorrow. Market expectations on the results have Infosys Technologies is around 8.5% on the topline and about 2.5% on the net profit front which is very close to the numbers they have projected in their last results.

Market Sources are eagerly waiting for the guidance that Infosys will post tommorrow, It would be interesting to see whether they would up their guidance or stay steady with the guidance they have posted previously.

If you see the historical results of Infosys Technologies Ltd , Quarter 2 is always the strongest in terms of numbers and the guidance they have given. In Fy2005 they have up their guidance by 5.1% and in the previous year that is Fy06 they have up their guidance by 2.9%.

It would be interesting to see the numbers and the guidance Infosys Technologies will announce on Thursday.

ICICI Bank Board of Directors meeting will be held on October 19th 2007 to consider the audited financial results for the half year and second quarter ended September 30,2007.

In its previous results ICICI Bank have recorded 25% increase in net profit to Rs 7,751 million for the quarter ended June 2007, as against Rs 6198 million in the corresponding quarter of last year.

Total income of ICICI Bank have also jumped to Rs 92,815 million up 49.65% when compared to the previous quarter in the last financial year.

Shares of ICICI Bank today closed up Rs 24.45 at Rs 1045.45 and the total volume of shares traded at the NSE was 4,217,699 on Tuesday.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limtied has announced their second quarter results for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 today.

Power Grid Corporation has posted a Net Profit of Rs 3712 million for the second quarter and the total income of the company stood at Rs 11081 million.

The company’s Net Sales for the quarter ended  September 30, 2007 stood at Rs 1034.4 crore.

Stock Price of Power Grid Corporation today closed at Rs 149.75 up 2.15 per cent on the NSE.
