Amara Raja Batteries announced that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held on Aug. 14, 2007 unanimously approved the expansion in the capacity of the industrial battery division, which involved capital expenditure of Rs 650 million.
Amara Raja Batteries registered 90.00% growth in net profit to Rs 179.06 million for the quarter ended June 2007 as compared with Rs 94.24 million for the corresponding quarter last year.
