Passport Processing by TCS

TCS emerged as the lowest bidder for the tender passed by Ministry of External Affairs. The tender is invited the by the Ministry for the processing of passports in India by a private party for 6 years with the deal valued at Rs 1300 crore.

TCS was the lowest bidder for Rs. 175 per passport and the Ministry has approved the bid by TCS and from now passport processing will be handled by TCS. Good to see that from now onward Passport Process in India should speed up with private player handling the process and soon E-Passport in India will also be a realty as the first e-passport in India will be issued by the President of India in June.
